Tomato sauce Stuffed rolls


Beautiful fluffy yeast rolled buns stuffed with spicy homemade tomato sauce.. who wouldn't love it? Seriously I love tomato and love even more to use in cooking and baking. When I was little, I used to eat tomatoes like a fruit.. grab from the fridge sprinkle salt and pepper, and direct in my mouth (it's known as tomato's fan). I'm not really vegetarian, but a tomatorian. For me, Gravies without tomatoes is like a lentils. Now, you've understand my addiction to tomatoes. So this recipe is also a version for addicted-tomato-lovers, & if you're one of them it is a must try recipe for you. If in case you aren't, then you should try it, believe me you'll start loving them.


Here's a easy but delicious recipe for Tomatoey Rolls.

Things you'll need:
For dough;
  • 2 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Milk, as required to make the dough (approx 1 cup or little more)
For Tomato sauce:
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 4 tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 1/3 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 green chilli (chopped)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 1 egg yolk
What you've to do:
  1. Make the dough with all ingredients given in dough section, with your hands.
  2. Cover the dough with dumped cloth and let it sit in the kitchen for 1 hour or so.
  3. In that time, let ready your tomato sauce.
For Tomato sauce:
  1. Heat up the oil in a pan over medium-low heat.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 1 min or until become golden.
  3. Add tomato, red chilli powder, green chilli and salt. Cover the pan and let them cook for 2-3 mins on low heat.
  4. Now, stir rapidly until all water absorbed up.
  5. Remove from heat and blend it with hand blend to make it like sauce.
  6. Return to the heat, add vinegar, stir and cook for 1 min.
  7. After 1 min stir up together and remove from the heat.
  8. Its ready for action now.
For making rolls:
  1. Preheat your oven,
  2. Uncover the cloth, press your punch to exit the air out of the dough.
  3. Roll out the dough in rectangle, on the flat surface with sprinkled flour.
  4. Place all over the rectangle dough, tomato sauce.
  5. Now gently roll the dough into a Log.
  6. Slices it out, about 3cm thick. (make 6 to 7)
  7. Place each slice over greased round pan, and space up to let them rise.
  8. Brush egg yolk over rolls.
  9. Place it into the oven and bake for 40 mins.
